Anyone who knows of the singer, Adele, will know her famous song ‘Hello’. The popular track has been covered by numerous artists, but nobody has turned the song on its head quite like this brother and sister have.
Brother and sister duo Rosie Delmah and Nicholas Murray (otherwise known as Rodesha and Conkarah), are from the Solomon Islands. Reggae music is a huge part of the culture and lifestyle, so on their YouTube channel, their niche is sharing reggae covers of well-known songs.
Conkarah has covered numerous pop songs, turning them into reggae covers and has built up a huge following of over 400,000 followers on his channel. But for this particular cover of an Adele song, he wanted a female voice for lead vocals. So he recruited his 14-year-old sister, Rosie.
The pair sang a reggae version of an Adele song
The song begins with Rosie’s flawless vocals beautifully singing the first verse, before Conkarah bursts in with an infectious reggae beat. The combination of pure vocals along with an edgy, funky accompaniment makes for a version of the power ballad that will leave you bopping along and playing it over and over again.
With over 70 million views on the video, it’s easy to see just how popular the version is. Check out the video below to hear their awesome cover of ‘Hello’ – you may like it more than the original!
Conkarah has covered many more songs by popular artists, such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Rihanna, but we think this is one of his best covers.
