Ballroom dancing has a rich and very prosperous following, with shows now like Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars becoming major shows with huge ratings, the traditional dancing styles are making a monumental comeback with people of all ages. While most dancers in a dance competition would tend to use classical or jazz music to accompany their performance, these dancers chose a slightly different route.
Their performance starts with Vanilla Ice’s 1990’s hip-hop classic ‘Ice Ice Baby‘ which features the musical riff sampled from the iconic David Bowie & Queen hit ‘Under Pressure‘ which came out in 1981.
But the fun didn’t stop there! In fact, this was merely the first song in a rather varied mashup of songs that they choose to boogie down to.
The entire routine combined numerous genres, styles and tempos of music to showcase their competitive and highly intricate routine. They even threw in a couple of cover songs from the popular TV show Glee and the musical accompaniment of a song from popular Disney movie High School Musical.
Fans were in awe of the stamina and precision timing that was executed throughout the flawless routine. Their fancy footwork truly is a marvel to behold.
