Sadly, there are a lot of stray cats roaming the streets around the world. Japanese Operator, Yoro Railway decided to join ventures with Kitten Cafe Sanctuary to try and rectify the issue.
Yoro Railway gave passengers on a local train in Osaka, Gifu, (200 miles west of Tokyo) the opportunity to commute with cats.
All the kitties on the train were former strays that had been rescued from euthanasia and are looking for new homes.
The organizers hoped that the train ride would help raise awareness for stray cats in Japan.
They aim to encourage people to adopt strays and give them a chance at finding a forever home.
The Cat Cafe train ran between Gifu’s Ogaki and Ikeno Stations.
I think it’s great that more people are aware about stray cats through events like this.
There’s no surprise that all the seats for the Cat Cafe train were fully booked in less than a day!
