You are forgiven if you haven’t heard of the B&B Project. They are a niche Ukrainian band who perform cover songs. They have a reasonable level of fame in their home country, but internationally they are still relatively unknown. However, the talented trio has taken the internet by storm with their latest cover of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s smash hit Despacito.
Despacito was an earworm hit two years ago and was the sound of the summer across the world. Everywhere you went, you’d hear it. The radio must have played it more times than any other song. And, whether you like the tune or not, you can’t deny it’s not catchy. Justin Bieber even added his voice to it that year!
However, this isn’t any ordinary cover. B&B Project plays the strangest instruments to do their instrumental covers. Have you ever heard of a Bandura? How about a Kahon? You’ve probably heard of an Accordion, but it’s still pretty weird. But, they make it work. The sound the talented trio produce is nothing short of incredible. And people like it, too.
The video already has nearly 2 million views, and it looks – and sounds – amazing. You’ll have to check it out for yourself because it’s really indescribable. They’re still a little way off the 3 billion views that the original song achieved, but they’re well on their way!
B&B Project is a pretty tight-knit band, and also very secretive. We don’t know a lot about the members, their relationships with each other, or anything! All we get is the song description saying, “We wish everyone a pleasant viewing experience!” It is kind but cryptic.
