Soldier Is Paying For His Food But When 2 Boys Walk In And Say They’re Starving, He Changes His Mind

The world can be a dark place at times, but every now and then we hear stories that restore our faith in humanity. This story is one of them.

When Army Lt. Col. Robert Risdon went into a Taco Bell recently to buy some food, he never expected that he would end up drawing attention to himself in the best way possible. As he sat down to eat his food, two young boys entered the restaurant. But these boys weren’t there to order food.

The boys of 9 and 13-years-old, were there to sell homemade desserts to raise money for their local church. However, Army Lt. Col. Robert Risdon noticed that the boys looked wet and cold.

He approached the two boys and asked them if they had eaten any dinner yet. What he did next had such an impact on nearby Jason Gibson that he grabbed his phone to record the interaction. Jason uploaded the video to Facebook and asked that others share it to spread awareness.

Lt. Col. Robert Risdon’s kind act was caught on camera…

I was in a Taco Bell tonight when two kids came in trying to sell homemade desserts for money… overheard a soldier ask the kids if they were hungry and told them to follow him to the counter, he would buy them dinner; I had to video it and share. Our troops are always taking care of us. Thank u LTC Robert Risdon please please share this….I heard the little one say I want to be just like u when I grow up and saluted him.

When Army Lt. Col. Risdon, a father of two, discovered that his act of kindness had gone viral, he was humbled but also a bit embarrassed. “I’m kinda embarrassed and humbled by the praise and don’t need it,” he told a reporter. “I am a believer that we live in the best country in the world with the best people and that acts of kindness happen every day.”

Well, you are right Army Lt. Col. Risdon, acts of kindness do happen every day. It’s people like you that make a difference in other people’s lives and we should all aspire to commit more kind acts every day.
