In south central, LA there was a string of sightings of what was believed to be a wolf. The Hope for Paws team went to investigate and they could instantly see that she was different from the animals they usually rescue.
The animal has just wandered into a yard when Eldad and Lisa arrived so they managed to secure her inside by closing the gate. They could see that she had an old rope around her neck which would suggest that he had been mistreated to a criminal degree.
The dog wich everyone has suspected was a wolf was in terrible shape, she had swollen joints and was bleeding in places. underneath her shaggy coat, she was extremely thin and obviously malnourished. you could see she was in pain as she hobbled around on her bloody and damaged paws. Despite the hell it looked like she had been through she remained gentle and calm.
Eldad and Lisa spent around 20 minutes gaining the dog’s trust, who is now named Julia, before they took her back to the vets. when they got there they confirmed that Julia had a severe case of mange, bacterial infections and malnutrition.
