What do you do when a giant pig has escaped and is somehow lurking around your hometown? If you’re anything like the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department, you lure them back home with some Poppin’ Jalepeño Doritos.
As it would appear, pigs seem to like spicy Doritos, who would have known?! I mean, it kind of makes sense; they’ll eat anything if you let them.
The large pig which was affectionately nicknamed as ‘Smalls’ had escaped from his home and was causing a spot of bother in his neighborhood. The pig was wandering around town freely and it left some people feeling pretty concerned.
The San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a resident. They were told that a ‘pig the size of a horse’ was roaming around the neighborhood unattended.
Thankfully, one of the police officers knew exactly who Smalls the pig was and they also knew what his favorite snack was – Poppin’ Jalepeño Doritos. I think this pig might be my spirit animal. If there’s one way to get my attention, it’s food!

Luckily, the officers had just the ticket on hand to help get this pig back home. Much like the story of Hansel and Gretel, the police officers used food to help guide the way home.
These officers made the ultimate sacrifice that day – by giving up their Doritos for a pig to try and restore order.
The crisps worked a treat and they successfully managed to lure the pig back home using the spicy snacks. Once the officers had safely returned Smalls to his owner, the police department decided to share some footage of their successful mission on social media.
Highland Station received a call referencing a pig “the size of a mini horse” running around the neighborhood. Deputy Ponce and Deputy Berg found him and due to previous calls, knew where he lived. They lured him back home with Doritos one of our deputies had in her lunch bag.
Does anyone else feel like Smalls the pig is their spirit animal? I feel like I could be lured home too with a trail of Doritos…
