81-Year-Old Watches Spanish Street Performers, Then Stuns Crowd With Her Surprise Tango Stunt

By - 16th August 2018

The phrase “age is nothing but a number” couldn’t be more appropriate when it comes to this 84-year-old Sarah ‘Paddy’ Jones. This British grandmother may look delicate and sweet, but don’t be fooled by her ‘little old lady’ image – Jones is a force of nature!

Ms Jones has been hiding a hidden talent – she’s a professional dancer. That’s right, at the age of 84, Paddy loves doing her energetic tango dance moves to keep her healthy and active.

3 years ago, Sarah ‘Paddy’ Jones took part in a hidden camera segment on a popular Spanish television program. Paddy headed into the center of Madrid with her walking stick to watch a couple dancing.

Paddy and Nico

While she watches the dancers, she can be heard praising the couple’s beautiful routine and dance moves. Sarah even jokes with the audience that her hips are too fragile to dance like that – but little did they know… Jones is quite familiar with the male dancer.

When the dancer asks for a volunteer from the crowd, Sarah quickly raises her hand

Immediately, the grandmother starts dancing to Carlos Gardel’s tango, “Por Una Cabeza” with her dance partner. Then, moments into the song, the tempo changes and the pair break into an energetic dance number.

The crowd certainly weren’t expecting to see what they did! This grandma has some serious moves! The intention of the hidden camera bit was to show people that looks can be deceiving.

In fact, old people can do a lot that you might not expect. The problem is that we dismiss them as soon as they get a little bit slower or more forgetful or weaker but it doesn’t mean they are any less human.

Every older person has an enormous amount of potential and they should not be treated as if they were worth nothing.

But Paddy and Nico aren’t just here for hidden camera pranks

Back in 2014, Paddy and Nico performed on Britain’s Got Talent where the dancing duo received the golden buzzer.

It was here where Paddy and Nico wowed the nation of Britain. They showed that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Paddy also shared her story of how she got into dance.

She moved to Spain with her husband but, sadly, 18 months later he passed away. Now, in a foreign country on her own, she needed a hobby. So Sarah joined Nico’s dance class and the rest was history!

The pair has certainly proved that you can do anything – don’t be tricked into thinking you’re ‘too old’ to do anything.

Don’t forget to watch Paddy and Nico trick the crowd in Madrid in the video below. Also, at Happiest we love hearing all of your opinions. So please let us know what you thought of the article in the comment section. ?
