When Valerie Watts was 9 months pregnant all almost ready to give birth, she received the devastating news that she was carrying a stillborn baby.
The week before she was due to give birth she said “All week I knew, he wasn’t moving as much. I was very nervous.”
After the the traumatic experience of giving birth to her stillborn son, she couldn’t bare to get rid of the many things she had bought for baby Noah and even left his nursery untouched for a whole year.
After a while, she made the incredibly difficult decision to move and gathered up the strength to sell some of Noah’s belongings and baby furniture.
Valerie decided to have a yard sale to sell on some of the belongings, but there was one item which she was particularly attached to, the crib.
The day finally arrived and started her yard sale. Very much to her surprise, an older gentleman named Gerrard took an interesting in the crib. Although she was reluctant to let it go, after some persuading she sold it to Gerrard.
It wasn’t until later that evening that Gerrard found out about Valerie’s backstory as his wife has been chatting to her earlier that day.
What he did next was nothing short amazing. His first thought was to take the crib back, but soon realised that this could bring back painful memories. So he transformed the crib into a memorial for Noah in form of a bench.
A week later when he turned up to Valerie’s home with the newly created bench, she was overwhelmed by his thoughtful gesture.
She said “It’s amazing, and there’s good people out there, there’s proof,” she tells
