Why Be Kind? It’s a question that I’m sure most of us have asked ourselves at some point or another. Sadly, we live in a world where kindness isn’t always at the forefront of people’s minds and that can be a real issue.
In fact, we live in a world where name-calling, bullying, and negativity can take over in all aspects of life. Whether it be home, at work, in the streets or even in schools.
Yes, I’m sure most of you will remember bullying and cruelty going on in your schools when you were little and unfortunately, that still occurs. But more and more people are now trying to stamp down on bullying by spreading a little more joy and kindness.
So I’ll ask again, why be kind? Some filmmakers decided to ask children why they should be kind to one another to see what they would say. They asked a mixture of children from the ages of 6 – 13 to see how much their answers would vary.
Filmmakers asked children ‘Why Be Kind?’
Jessie Auritt and Alexandra Berger directed and produced the short film where they asked children ‘Why Be Kind?’ and their answers were adorable and quite powerful.
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop
Remarkably, each child had very similar answers but varied reasons which gave us all some food for thought. These children really gave us some important reminders of why we should be kind to one another and its something that every adult and child should watch.
We’re just hoping that their messages can inspire others to do the same and learn from this.
