There’s a new elementary school champion and it’s all because a video of him bonding with his students has gone viral.
He has a secret handshake routine for every single one of his students. Now I say, Parent Trap, eat your heart out.
The extraordinary routine that the super high-energy fifth-grade teacher Barry White, Jr. is going insanely viral this week, as social media has picked up on the video of him greeting his students at the start of the day.
In just over 2 days It’s racked up 90 Million views which via the ABC facebook page alone.
In the short clip, you can see a long line of children waiting to go into class at Ashley Park PreK-8 School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and White, Jr. manages to do a different choreographed handshake for every single one of the students. Whether it might be a fist bump, shimmie, spins, dab, or a combination of all the above, every shake has its own style.
What is great to see is that and the young students clearly love it. He also runs the school’s step team and coaches boys’ basketball, which might go part of the way to explaining how he has such a talent for this.
He told ABC News:
“Its muscle memory at this point, I do it so much with them. It started with just a few students, but then I saw how much it meant to them”
He was inspired to make this a part of his classroom life thanks to Lebron James after he noticed James too has a different greeting for each member of the Cavaliers.
