I think it’s fair to say that some people in the world have some rather interesting hobbies and past times. Some hobbies are niche, others are pretty strange, and then some people’s can be downright terrifying. Don’t believe me? Well, you’ve never seen this skydiving granny before.
That’s right, Irene O’Shea became the oldest female skydiver on Sunday when she took part in a monumental jump. The event took place in the town of Langhorne Creek in South Australia.
Irene became a record breaker by completing a skydive at the age of 102 – that’s unbelievable! And she did it all with a smile on her face. She’s exactly who I aspire to be when I grow old, what a woman!
Family and friends all gathered to watch Irene O’Shea’s monumental skydive on Sunday. They waited with bated breath, but all who know her knows that she would have loved every minute of it.
The skydiving granny completed her challenge all for a good cause
Irene O’Shea was doing the skydive to raise money and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of South Australia.
The skydiving granny first became the oldest female skydiver in the world in 2017 before she decided to smash her record again this year.
You know Irene is feisty when she decides to beat her own record to prove she’s still got it.
This skydive was her third one with the same company since 2016. I tell you what, you may get older and slower, but you never lose your zest for life!
If anybody can prove that, it’s Irene the skydiving granny, that’s for sure.
