There is so much tragedy in the news that sometimes it is helpful to focus on the good that is in the world. In the wake of recent tragedies, people have been quoting the famous Mr Rogers quote to raise awareness of the people who are seen helping strangers in the midst of chaos.
Man Shares Uplifting Story About The Time Mr Rogers Helped Him
The quote is a wonderful reminder that there is always light to be found in the darkness, and writer Anthony Breznican wanted to let the twitter universe know just how truly kind Mr Rogers was in real life.
On the 50th anniversary of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, a kids TV show hosted by the now-deceased Fred Rogers, Breznican posted a series of tweets detailing his chance meeting with the TV personality. His story is a perfect example of how Fred Rogers managed to touch the lives of so many people growing up and what a wonderful man he was.
One day, Breznican came across a TV in the common room, playing the classic TV show that he had grown up watching.
What are the chances? The universe must have sensed that Breznican needed a helping hand in his difficult time.
I don’t know if I can hold back the tears right now…
Breznican and Rogers sat down and began to discuss the death of their grandfathers and how the men shaped who they were today.
What a truly wonderful man!
It seems like Fred Rogers himself was one of those ‘helpers’ in life; seeing when somebody needed a listening ear or a helping hand and doing what he could to ease their woes.
Mr Rogers died in 2003, but his legacy lives on in the people whose lives he touched.
Excuse me while I reach for the tissues… Thank you, Fred Rogers, for being a beacon of light in our, at times, dark world.
