What’s the use of staying with someone who’s abusive and horrible to you. It’s true that many people can’t get out of abusive relationships, or don’t know that they’re being used, but if you see harmful patterns emerge, it’s time to leave. That’s exactly what this woman did when her boyfriend called her all sorts of horrible names, like “fat” and “garbage”. And she got revenge in the best way possible – by showing him what he was missing.
Philadelphia mom Alvina Rayne wasn’t always as heavy as these pictures show. She had been a little overweight, but nothing drastic. That’s until she met her boyfriend. He verbally abused her about her weight issues, which only worsened them. She turned to sugary and fatty foods as a coping mechanism, but couldn’t leave him.
He would tell her that she was “worthless and [would] never lose the weight even if [she] tried.” That meant she felt inadequate, felt like garbage, and that she’d never find another man. At her heaviest, she weighed 274 pounds, and her health was suffering for it. She suffered from high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, left ventricular hypertrophy and severe anxiety. All due to her weight.
But, in 2009 she made a huge change. First, she gathered her strength and dumped her abusive boyfriend. Then, she set about getting revenge in the best way possible. She put all her energy into a diet to show him what he was missing, and that she was beautiful outside as well as within. But mostly she did it for her kids. She knew they depended on her, and that with all her weight-related health issues, she might not always be there for them.
Now she is so much healthier and so much happier! After dropping over 130 pounds, guess who came knocking? That’s right, her ex sent her a creepy message saying, “I heard you put on some hotness.” But she would never go back. Then, she found a lovely man called Sascha who treats her right! The happy couple is now married and living a happy life with Alvina’s kids.
