Mom Alison Potts was born with Waardenburg Syndrome, a genetic hearing disorder that was unknowingly passed down to three of her eight children.
Waardenburg Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that is often, but not always, characterised by varying degrees of deafness, a white forelock of hair, skin pigmentation loss and in some more severe cases cleft lip pallet and issues with the heart.
Ellianna is Alison’s youngest child at only three months and born with the condition; unable to hear her mothers voice or siblings bickering.
Watch the moment that baby Ellianna’s first set of hearing aids are turned on and she hears her mother’s voice for the first time – instantly changing her mood, as if spellbound!
