No matter how you feel about former President Barack Obama’s policies, there’s no denying that he is a good man. He consistently shows kindness and compassion to everyone he meets. So, of course, he was the perfect person to visit a children’s hospital as their stand-in for Santa this year.
Since he stepped down as the President of the United States, Barack Obama has spent a lot of time doing charity work. One of his special visits this festive season has been at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C.
Carrying a sack full of gifts and wearing a Santa hat, Barack Obama walked from room to room spreading joy to the patients and their families. He took the time to speak to everyone, asking each of their names and giving out gifts to the poorly patients.
The media can be very biased and portray negative images of politicians to push their individual agendas, but there is no denying Obama’s kindness.
Children’s National shared a video of his special visit and how much of a positive impact he made in the lead up to the festive season. They shared the video with the following words.
Thank you, Barack Obama, for making our patients’ day so much brighter. Your surprise warmed our hallways and put smiles on everyone’s faces! Our patients loved your company…and your gifts!
Thousands of people have professed their support for the former President’s sweet act. Many have taken to Twitter to express their praise for the former leader of the free world, and the general consensus is that many miss his wise and positive leadership skills.
And it’s not just the people working and staying at Children’s National Hospital that enjoyed the visit. Barack Obama, himself, took to Twitter to thank them for their hospitality, and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to the extraordinary kids, families, and staff at Children’s National. And thanks for humoring me as your stand-in Santa. https://t.co/mFmYCVk7cr
