Aretha Franklin Walks Out On Stage, But When She Opens Her Mouth, The Whole Crowd Gasped

By - 8th August 2017

Aretha Franklin is a true living legend and she hasn’t lost a single cent of her passion and class in her old age.

This powerful soul songstress proved that she’s still got it with an incredibly powerful performance at the Kennedy Center Honours event.

Aretha was there to honour American composer and singer-songwriter, Carole King
For those who don’t know who Miss King is, Carole has written or co-written 118 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1999.

Franklin appeared, unbeknown to King, and performed her iconic song “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” which she had co-written with Carole.

Carole was noticeably stunned as she was unaware of Aretha’s surprise and when she started singing, Carole went into a complete meltdown as she burst with pride and sheer joy listening to the living legend blitz a song they wrote together.

You cannot deny Aretha’s talent, even at the age of 75, she still manages to wow a crowd with her powerful vocal stylings that made her a standout star in her youth.

The performance proved to be quite emotional not just for Carole, with former President of the United States, Barack Obama even shedding a tear.

She even managed to get a standing ovation before the song had even finished. Now that is a talent
