Step aside Grumpy Cat, there’s a new fed-up looking feline on the scene! This little guy is all too adorable. Little Saul was found in mid-October wandering the streets of London alone in the rain.
A man spotted the cat and noticed that Saul was clearly injured. He quickly contacted the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). They sent an animal collection officer to rescue Saul and take him straight to the RSPCA’s Putney Animal Hospital.
Caroline Allen, London veterinary director for the RSPCA said:
He was in a very sorry state … and had discharge coming from his eyes and nose and looked very poorly indeed. We believe he was involved in a road traffic accident as we found he had injured his jaw, teeth and one eye.
Saul didn’t appear to be in a very good state. He looked beat up when he arrived at the hospital and the team knew they had to get him treated and medicated as soon as possible.
Thankfully, Saul slowly began to heal and the staff noticed something unique about the little feline… He was a grumpy cat
Not because he was always angry, he just had a grumpy face. In fact, even when he was in the best moods, Saul would still look like a grumpy cat. The staff don’t quite know if Saul’s grumpy cat face is due to his past injuries or if he was just born looking more vexed than the average cat.
Whatever the reason, it looks like Saul’s face is here to stay and the staff absolutely love it! The staff at the hospital all said that Saul is one of the most affectionate cats they have but most people don’t realize because of his angry expression.
Despite his constant scowl, Saul’s actually really sweet and friendly. He’s recovering really well from his injuries and we hope he will soon be ready to move to our cattery at Southall to find a new home as we don’t rehome directly from the hospital.
Everyone at the hospital has fallen in love with Saul and it’s not hard to see why. He’s adorable!
We’re just hoping that when he’s healed and they put him up for adoption, another family will love him just as much as the staff do.
We’re sure someone will fall in love with this glum-looking puss. In fact, we think he could be a bit of a star. We’re sure he’d give Grumpy Cat a run for his money — that’s why we’re affectionately nicknaming him Grumpy Cat 2.0!
How adorable is little Saul? We’re pretty certain he will find a forever home as soon as he’s put up for adoption. Send us pictures of your own grumpy looking pets, we’d love to see how they match up.
