If you’re having a bad day, you know what is sure to cheer you up? Pictures of cute animals. Usually, we’d Google pictures of dogs or cats, maybe even baby animals. But, today we’re going for something completely different, but just as cute. This is Kohaku, the beautiful leopard gecko.
He is currently four years old and lives in Japan with his mom. His mom, whose name is unknown, adopted him when he was just two months old. But, look at them now! Best of friends.

But Kohaku is happiest when with his favorite toy. It’s a miniature version of himself, a tiny gecko! Just look at his adorable smile. It’s no wonder his owner documents his every move on Instagram.
Speaking of which, Kohaku’s Instagram account has over 30,000 followers who eagerly anticipate their next gecko instalment. You can’t blame them really.

I think this gecko could be my new favorite animal. Well, definitely the one I turn to if I ever need cheering up. If you’re having a bad Monday morning – perfect! Kohaku is quite the internet celebrity now, but he hasn’t let it go to his head. He still likes the same old things, especially his toy geckos. We’re wondering if he ever needs a friend someday. It might get a bit lonely on your own, especially when dealing with so much fame.
