Do you ever have those days where you wake up and just pray that you don’t have to do anything? Sadly, you realise that you have to go to work or school or the dentist and you can’t think of anything worse than getting out of bed.
It would appear that it’s not just us humans who have these thoughts and feelings – dogs are smarter than a lot of people give them credit for. In fact, this dog has mastered the art of deception.
Lulu the gorgeous Shiba Inu was snoozing in her human mama’s bed. In the video, we see her entering the room to wake up her precious pup. However, her dog doesn’t want to acknowledge her this morning.
She knows exactly where mom plans on taking her – the vet! We know dogs hate the vet so we’re not surprised this dog is pretending to sleep through her conversation.
It’s quite smart to see this master actor at work because it’s the sort of thing I used to do as a kid. I never thought I’d see a dog do it though. Lulu’s human mama keeps talking to her to try and wake her up, she even gives her some tickles behind the ear and a belly rub, but Lulu is resilient.
This procrastinating puppy plays dead to avoid the vet
Lulu really looks like she’s in the deepest slumber as her mum shouts to try and wake her up. When Lulu starts getting her belly rubbed, I couldn’t help but think about how great her level of restraint is.
Are you playing dead? Are you playing dead so you don’t have to go to the vet?
Even when Lulu’s mom shouts “Boo!” to try and wake her up, she doesn’t even flinch. How can she wake Lulu up? Well, she has a plan…
She pulls the covers off Lulu and she thinks of what she could use to entice Lulu to wake her up. Then she said something that immediately made Lulu snap out of her fake slumber.
Ok, Lulu, well dead puppies don’t get treats.
Immediately Lulu hopped up on the bed and her eyes became fixed in the direction of the crinkled packaging sounds. She was certainly a tough nut to crack but she put up a good fight!
