Food Industries Have Been Holding Beauty Pageants For Decades, And The Winner’s Photos Are Hilarious

By - 22nd November 2018

Beauty pageants are as American as apple pie – which is great, because, in the mid 20th century, it would appear that food was the flavor of the millennium when it came to beauty pageants. Yes, food queens were all the rage!

That’s right, food queens were a big part of the beauty pageant world way back when. And if you think it sounds strange but fascinating, believe me, it is! And now we’re utterly in love with it. Fancy yourself as the next sausage queen?

Well, back in the day, pageant hopefuls would compete to be the face of random foods – sounds odd, I know, but us guys here at Happiest love it!

The most popular queens in this list certainly seem to be the donut queens – they had quite a good run over the years. And the costumes are pretty spectacular. There aren’t many things greater than seeing a young lady from Idaho buried under a mountain of potatoes? I honestly don’t think there is.

Do you have any foods that you would love to see these pageant queens represent? How about a hotdog queen, or a Hawaiian pizza queen?

We’ve found some of the greatest food queens of the past century…

Let us know which ones are your favorites in the comment section. I definitely think Miss 1965 is me! Which of the food queens would you be?
