It’s a harsh and sad reality of life, but there are many animal shelters in the world that are full to the brim with unwanted pets. Sadly, if they do not manage to find a forever home, they will be euthanized. But can Edie the dog escape the kill list?
It’s not a pleasant thought, but it’s one of those horrible truths in the world. That’s why veterinarians and activist ask that pet owners spay and neuter their pets so there would be less stray creatures in the world.
Eldad Hagar and his rescue team work tirelessly to do all they can to save strays from being euthanized. So when they heard about a pup named Edie who was hours away from being put down, they knew they had to act fast.
When the team arrived at the shelter, they felt like they’d walked into a horror story.
They found a Maltese poodle mix in a high-kill shelter just an hour before she was scheduled to be euthanized. But what was the reason? Edie the pup was absolutely petrified of human contact.
The team believed that the dog with white matted hair may have been severely abused in her past. This made even the sight of a human being turn Edie into a quivering wreck.
Edie the dog was utterly petrified
But Eldad was determined to help the little pup out. He wanted to show her that there are good people in the world that can help her and love her.
Thankfully, it didn’t take Edie long to trust Eldad. Soon she was laying on her back and letting him scratch her belly. Eventually, she was wagging her tail again which was a huge milestone for the petrified dog.
After a trip to the groomers, the matted fur was gone and the beautiful puppy underneath was revealed. It just goes to show that a little TLC goes a long way. Wait until you see what Edie looks like now!
