You might be thinking to yourself, how could anyone leave such a cute and innocent dog behind at an airport? Well, there’s a very good reason and they’re both now certainly living a better life. The three-month-old Chihuahua, called Chewy, was found in a Las Vegas airport along with a heartbreaking handwritten letter from his owner. The letter read as follows:
“Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much — please love and take care of him.”
Thankfully, Chewy wasn’t alone for long as he was he was picked up and taken to Conor and Millie’s dog rescue where founder Linda Gillam learned about his back story.
It is currently unknown where the woman who abandoned Chewy is, but it’s safe to say that it is for the best and they are both now hopefully living a better life. Founder Linda Gillam said:
“We also wanted to try and get the message to Chewy’s mom that she did a brave thing and that he is safe and will have a great life.”
