Woman Adopts Two Blind Dogs That Nobody Wanted, Turns Them Into The Happiest Little Explorers

By - 13th July 2018

Dogs are some of the greatest creatures in the world. I don’t think there are many people who would disagree with us on that. But how many of you would brave owning a blind dog?

One woman was on the hunt for a pet. She knew she wanted a dog but she had no intentions of adopting a disabled dog – but then she spotted Abi.

Abi the blind dog appeared out of nowhere with nothing more than a cheesy smile

“I wasn’t planning on adopting a special needs dog. I’d never actually been around a special needs dog before. But during the search, I found Abi. There wasn’t any backstory. It was just a picture of a smiling, little no-eyed dog.”

At first, she was quite nervous, but it wasn’t too long before she settled into her forever home. Abi soon realised that the family loved her and she started to relax.

Abi can do almost anything that other dogs can do and she’s fiercely independent – it just takes her a little longer to adapt to her surroundings.

But DD (Abi’s owner) was made an offer she didn’t expect.

DD’s brother asked if she wanted another blind dog named Duke that lived in Michigan. DD wasn’t looking for another dog at the time but he looked so adorable and she knew Abi wanted a pal.

The only problem was that Duke was on the other side of the country. However, DD couldn’t say no, so she began her 4-day drive to retrieve Duke.

Duke was a beautiful addition to the family. Abi is quite energetic and curious to explore the world and Duke is a lot more relaxed but the two love spending quality time with each other.

Now the curious pair has a new lease for life and love going for adventures together. It doesn’t matter that they can’t see where they are, as long as they are together, that is all that matters.

These two make the most gorgeous pair! Would you ever adopt a special needs pet? Do you already have one? Let us know in the comment section.
