While his brother Prince William must be getting a bit tired of babies now, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have just announced their first royal baby. A royal statement also announced this special moment for the pair. It read as follows:
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
“The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
“More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
It is all pretty cryptic, but you have to give them their fair dues and some privacy. Their whole lives are under scrutiny, so let them have a few special moments with their child. After all, soon it will become the royal baby, and nothing will be the same for him ever again.
The Royals’ role involves many public appearances, which the pair haven’t shied away from during Meghan’s pregnancy. However, now the Duke an Duchess of Sussex (to give them their proper titles) are requesting some time alone.
The couple has announced that the royal baby is a healthy boy. However, there is no mention of a name yet. What do you think they’ll call it? We can only guess, but perhaps Harry will want to name it William, after his big brother?
May we be the first to congratulate them on their new arrival, and wish all three the best of health and luck in the coming years.
