Adorable Dog Fears Favourite Human Is Being Washed Away By Waves, So Tries To Save Her

By - 15th August 2018

How can you not love dogs? Not only are they man’s best friend, they are also our rehabilitators, carers, companions and heroes. And this big ball of fluff certainly is a hero (whether the person in question needed rescuing or not). This giant dog rescues a girl who he thought was drowning in the sea.

The big beast was watching a little girl splashing and playing on the seashore. All harmless fun, until one of the waves splashed a little high. This dog witnessed it all and he didn’t want to see the little girl get washed away.

Matyas was swimming in the ocean near Gouville-sur-Mer, France. Matyas was with his owner’s granddaughter when a small wave crashed over her.

Giant dog rescues a girl from being ‘swept away’ in the ocean

This majestic beast wasn’t taking any chances. Dangerous or not, he was there to protect his little human. So he headed into the water to interrupt her leisurely swim.

Matyas gently grabbed hold of the girl’s top and dragged her towards the beach. Throughout the daring rescue, the little girl realized what the dog was doing and she couldn’t help but giggle. Afterall, the dog did just save her life (kind of).

Shortly after, Matyas decided that the girl was at a safe enough distance from the treacherous ocean. This gentle giant had completed his rescue mission.

The event was filmed on August 3rd, 2018 and already it’s been viewed over 1 million times! But many are still trying to work out the breed.

Some believe Matyas is either a Leonberger, Sarplaninac, Keeshond or a Newfoundland (I think it’s a Newfoundland), but what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
