Young Brian Kelly loved playing outside with his dad and doing yard work. But then his dad was sent overseas. Brian’s father was in the Air Force so he had been deployed abroad.
But who could he do things with now his dad was away? That’s when Brian Kelly turned to his neighbours for help. Molly and Dean Cravens are the perfect neighbours. They are sweet, kind and have plenty of time to help Brian in his hours of need.
Every day, they find young Brian Kelly on their porch ringing the doorbell.
It all started when Brian noticed Dean out in the yard with his hedge trimmers and coming over to talk about it. Brian asked if he could help Dean out with the yard work. Kindly, Dean said yes.
Although Brian loves doing “dad stuff” like yard work, they do also like to have fun in the sun. Brian loves playing golf or basketball with Dean.
Dean has 3 daughters but no son, so he loves hanging out with Brian as he can do “dad stuff” with him.
Brian’s mom knows this is only a temporary thing, but she’s so unbelievably grateful to have such kind and caring neighbours.
She knows that Dean can’t replace his dad, but his kindness has been helping Brian out while his dad is on duty.
When Dan [Brian’s dad] gets back, Brian’s going to cry and run to him with open arms.
Molly shared some pictures of Brian on Twitter and people of the internet have been expressing how cute their friendship is. The picture has been retweeted over 3,000 times and it’s not hard to see why.
It’s adorable that Molly and Dean have taken Brian Kelly under their wing while his dad is deployed overseas. Do you know any servicemen or women whose kids had a unique way of getting by? At Happiest we love hearing all of your opinions. So please let us know in the comment section below. ?
