For anyone who says animals don’t have feelings, show them this. When this baby koala’s mother underwent surgery, he wouldn’t leave her side. He clutched her tight for the whole time, and the pictures are completely adorable.
Koalas are adorable creatures, fluffy little bear-like guys who sleep for 23 hours a day. They carry their young around in a little pouch on their front, which makes them a marsupial rather than a regular mammal.
Of all Australian animals, koalas are probably the cutest and least dangerous. And a baby koala is even cuter, of course. But, more than anything, this particular baby koala is the most adorable of them all.
Comedian Marty Fields shared the photos on Facebook, with the caption as follows:
“A Baby Koala Clings To His Mother While She Undergoes Surgery
Lizzy the koala was taken to a wildlife hospital in an Australian zoo, with her son holding on to her side. Lizzy had been hit by a car. Her little boy, Phantom, only 6-months-old, was luckily unharmed and screamed when they tried to remove him from his mother.
“Lizzy suffered a collapsed lung that required emergency surgery.
Phantom continued to hold on and would not leave her even during the operation.
“Lizzy survived the surgery and is currently recovering with Phantom by her side.
“Please take a minute and share these wonderful images of animal’s ability to love.”
Be Like This Baby Koala
The adorable photos showed how much love this baby koala has for its mother, and us humans can learn a lot from it too. Maybe take this opportunity to call your mom, or give her a hug if you still can.
But, most of all, spread the love of this baby koala and its mother, and show that animals have love too.
