Though it’s been 12 years since Steve Irwin the ‘Crocodile Hunter’ sadly passed away. But his spirit and his livelihood still live on through his wife and his incredible children.

Steve’s incredible charm, energy and love of animals inspired generations to get interested in wildlife. His passion has left a long-lasting impression in hearts all over the world.

The Crocodile Hunter spent his life educating us with close-up encounters of some of the most fascinating creatures all around the world. Even years after his death, his videos are still being watched and inspiring people all around the globe.

In the video, Steve Irwin finds himself coming into close contact with an orangutan mother

Deep in the forest of Sumatra, Steve sat perched on a tree branch as he observed a mother orangutan. He was only a few feet away and he kept perfectly still as to not startle or aggravate the animal.

Steve and the orangutan had never met, but from her reaction, you can see she’s intrigued by him. She slowly moves towards him and sits by his side.

But more incredibly, she brings her tiny baby with her. Steve Irwin knows he had to be very calm and cautious, orangutans are very protective over their young.

This is what made Steve Irwin an incredible human being and an inspiring wildlife expert. Thanks to him, many kids grew up wanting to be vets or work at animal sanctuaries.

Because of his inspiring nature, his kids grew up around animals from the moment they were born. Naturally, they’ve followed in his footsteps and his spirit lives on through them.
