Ravens are historically known as literary indicators of peril and in this video, you can see that it is, in fact, the bird who is in danger.
The large black bird can be seen screeching in pain during this video.
Three large porcupine quills can be seen poking through the raven’s face while another rests in a wing. But luckily for the bird, a very helpful human is nearby to save the day.You can hear the lady shout “I just want to help” as the bird squawks at her.
Though it looks like the bird is trying to scare her off, it stays calm when she rubs its belly and after she pulls out each porcupine quill. The bird clearly isn’t trying to intimidate her, it’s just calling out for help.
According to Doctors Foster and Smith, while the sharp, anchored porcupine quills are not poisonous, they can move deeper under the skin if not removed immediately. That situation can cause fatal damage.
Luckily, however, this raven knew exactly how to ask for help and with a little coaxing, it received the assistance it needed.
Well done to this family who was happy to help, would you have done the same? Let us know in the comments.
