Picture the scene – you’re driving down the road when all of a sudden you see something whiz past and then you hear a thud. You get out of your car to find the head of a hawk lodged in the front grill of your car. Yes, a hawk hit a car and was stuck in the grill.
Lynzee DeSantis uploaded the video on Facebook after she got out of her car and a kind man helped to try and rescue the hawk. She saw the hawk coming towards her vehicle and she tried to swerve to avoid the creature.
Wow – Red Tailed Hawk hit my car and this really awesome guy saved him!!
The beak of this poor bird had gotten snared in the grill of the car. But upon closer inspection, miraculously, they noticed the bird was still alive and breathing.
The female hawk was (understandably) quite shaken and was very cautious around the humans who were trying to free her. Eventually, however, she realized that they were trying their best to help her and not hurt her.
A hawk hit a car as it swooped low across the road
When Lynzee didn’t know what to do to help the bird, a kind man came over to help. Ryan Jenson wanted to free the bird as much as Lynzee so he began trying to find ways to free her without causing any harm.
The pair called the authorities about what had happened. But they could see the creature was in distress so continued to try and free the bird. Watch the clever, careful way that Ryan manages to rescue the poor hawk. It is a difficult but wonderful rescue!
