8-Year-Old Girl Feeds The Same Crow For 4 Years, Then One Day It Starts To Return The Favor

There’s nothing sweeter than seeing an unlikely friendship develop. We’ve seen animals bond with other animals but I love seeing a human bond with an animal you wouldn’t expect to become a friend. In this story, we’re going to tell you about a gift-giving crow who’s been spending a lot of time with 8-year-old Gabi Mann.

I’m sure most of you will see birds chirping away and flying about in your neighborhood. Most people feed the birds but some birds like to return the favor.

8-year-old Gabi Mann from Seattle, Washington, started feeding the crows in her family’s garden. Then the crows decided to return the favor with some kind gifts for the adorable little girl.

Gabi Mann was stunned to see that a gift-giving crow was leaving her presents for feeding them

The best part is that Gabi has kept all the gifts she had been given by the very thankful crow in labeled bags, tucked away inside a storage bead box. She sees each gift as a treasured possession and she doesn’t want to lose any of them.

For example, one of the labels reads: “Black table by feeder. 2:30 p.m. 09 Nov 2014” when she received a broken light bulb.

She has received all sorts of different gifts, from Lego pieces, buttons, paperclips, beads and pieces of foam. But her favorite gift is a pearl colored heart.

It’s showing me how much they love me.

Gabi started feeding the crows in her neighborhood by accident as she was prone to dropping food. She climbed out of the car and a chicken nugget fell off of her lap. That’s when crows started wandering over to eat.

When she realized this was happening, she would leave food scraps on her way to the bus stop with her brother.

It didn’t take long for the crows to start learning who Gabi was and they would wait for her each day when she would get off the school bus.

Gabi gave away quite a bit of her packed lunches over time, but her mother, Lisa Mann, didn’t seem to mind.

I like that they love the animals and are willing to share.

By 2013, Gabi and her mother would make food offerings a daily habit. When their routine became daily, the gift-giving crow would start returning with treats for Gabi. What an intelligent animal and what a special bond between a little girl and a bird. It’s like a real-life fairytale!
