Meet one Taiwanese Police Department’s latest crime fighting recruits: Fushin, Schumann, Feida, Yige, AJ and Liang.
These beautiful pups have only just opened their eyes and are already being introduced to their new workplace on colleagues.
It is hoped that they will be able to pass their training and will join the K-9 unit if successful, like their parents Yellow and Leader, 2 year old detection dog already serving the local community.
Taiwan has employed detection dogs for approx. a decade and it is thought that the 6 pups will follow in their mom and dad’s footprints to sniff out drugs.
Pan Tian-long, captain of the K-9 Unit, revealed that the puppies are already on their way to learning about narcotics alongside their trainers, who put illegal substances near their food before they are allowed to eat. It helps them learn both patience and gets them used to some of the scents they’ll be sniffing out.
“Fushin is very special,” Pan went on to say that Fushin has the potential to become a blood detection dog where he’ll be trained to sniff out even the smallest drips of blood, “he is the naughtiest and the bossiest!” Pan added.
We want to wish Fushin, Schumann, Feida, Yige, AJ and Liang the best of luck with their training and hope to see them fighting crime on the streets of Taiwan in no time!
