Over the years we’ve heard some seriously beautiful covers of Leonard Cohen’s iconic song “Hallelujah.”
Regardless of this being one of the most covered songs one rendition in my eyes has managed to stand out.
During a school trip to Italy, 17-year-old Tiffany Day stumbled upon a grated wishing well in Venice and decided to take the acoustics for a spin.
Tiffany Day, who was travelling with her Kansas high school choir for spring break, took the opportunity to sing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” using the well’s echo to enhance her cover.
Amazingly, since she’s posted it to her twitter just over 2 weeks ago it has been retweeted over 130,000 times, viewed over 2.5 million times on youtube and has over 4 million views on facebook. you need to just take a listen to understand why it’s attracted such widespread attention.
